About Me

Hello, I am Chelsea a late-identified AUDHD therapist, and founder of Chelsea Turner Therapy.  I am so glad you are here. I am passionate about walking alongside clients on their unique journeys of self-discovery and healing. I work at the intersection of childhood trauma and neurodivergence. No matter how stuck you may feel, there is always hope.

I describe myself as a practical psychodynamic therapist. I bring a compassionate and thoughtful approach to therapy, while also being willing to be direct when it’s helpful. I believe in balancing empathy with gentle accountability so that therapy can lead to real, lasting change.

In our sessions, we’ll explore your thoughts and feelings while uncovering the questions that matter most to you. Together, we will collaborate to discover practical tools that can help you start feeling better right away. Meanwhile, we will explore how past experiences affect your present life. We do this to honor our past experiences, improve current and future relationships, and lead more satisfying lives. We heal when we find new ways of being in relationship to others.

I hold a BA in Philosophy and Women’s and Gender Studies from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, as well as a Master of Public Policy and a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland. My background includes experience in federal government and mental health policy. I am currently licensed to practice in Maryland and DC, and  my NY license is pending.
