About Me
Hello, I am so glad you are here.
I am Chelsea, a late-identified AuDHD (Autistic and ADHD) therapist and founder of Chelsea Turner Therapy. I am passionate about walking alongside clients on their unique journeys of self-discovery and healing. I work at the intersection of childhood trauma and neurodivergence. No matter how stuck you may feel, there is always hope.
I am a practical psychodynamic therapist. I bring a compassionate and thoughtful approach to therapy while also being willing to be direct when it is helpful. I believe in balancing empathy with gentle accountability so that therapy can lead to meaningful, lasting change.
In our sessions, we will explore your thoughts and feelings while uncovering the questions that matter most to you. Together, we will identify practical tools that can help you begin feeling better right away, while also exploring how past experiences continue to shape your present life. We do this to honor our histories, strengthen our current and future relationships, and create more satisfying lives. Healing happens when we discover new ways of relating to ourselves and to others.
I hold a BA in Philosophy and Women's and Gender Studies from St. Mary's College of Maryland, as well as a Master of Public Policy and a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland. My professional background includes experience in both federal government and mental health policy. I am currently licensed to practice in Maryland and Washington, DC, and my New York license is pending.
